BBA Aviation’s engine repair and overhaul (ERO) company H+S Aviation has been awarded distributor and designated overhaul facility (DDOF) authorization for repair and overhaul of all Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T TwinPac engines. This engine is installed primarily on Bell and Agusta/Bell 212 and 412 helicopters. The Portsmouth, England MRO also holds OEM authorizations for Rolls-Royce 250/T63/T703 and General Electric T700 and CT7 turboshaft engines. According to Hugh McElroy, the company’s president, when combined with the PT6T, the authorizations apply to almost half of all rotorcraft engines in operation worldwide. “The addition of this authorization contributes greatly to our ongoing expansion of rotorcraft support,” McElroy said. “In addition to working on the engines, the DDOF designation enables H+S Aviation to sell OEM parts over the counter. It is a significant enhancement to our DOF-only authorization.” The company has been overhauling accessories and catering to the European and Middle East helicopter market for more than 30 years.
