Machida Videoscope Sheds Light on Engine Condition
Take an inside look at a gas-turbine engine with tips and tricks from Machida.

Here at Heli-Expo 2015 Machida is debuting a portable light source with its approved FBA-4B-100P 4-mm fiberscope. In addition attendees can get hands-on experience with the company's DPU 7-7070 high-definition digital processing unit attached to a 3-mm videoscope (VSC-3-140-NL) on Pratt & Whitney, Turbomeca and Rolls-Royce helicopter engines.

The unit includes a 10-inch monitor in a stout Pelican case for easy transport to field maintenance locations. Staff are available at the booth to provide tricks and tips that make using the equipment simpler and more efficient.

Tokyo-based Machida was established in 1975 as a joint venture between Katsumi Oneda and Machida Endoscope to develop and market medical equipment. The Pratt & Whitney Government Products division and the U.S. Air Force contracted with Machida to design a flexible borescope for the F-100 engine, and that gained the company entry into aviation.
