Jeppesen’s Services Suite bundled data package is now available for Avidyne’s recently certified IFD440 navigator. The bundled service already was available for the IFD540 as well as Avidyne’s EX-S multifunction displays installed in a single aircraft. The advantage of the bundle service is that aircraft owners can use a single subscription to update multiple avionics products in their aircraft. “Being able to update all avionics within a single aircraft greatly simplifies a complex process,” said Scott Reagan, director, Jeppesen OEM client management, “and the bundled data service approach provides a discounted subscription rate for our customers using supported Avidyne avionics.”
Jeppesen and Garmin announced that the Garmin Connext tablet connectivity system has been expanded to include the Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck app. This allows FliteDeck users with compatible Garmin avionics to wirelessly receive and display ADS-B weather and traffic on the FliteDeck app.
The compatible Garmin setup includes its Flight Stream 210/110 wireless gateway installed with a GDL 88/84 datalink to display ADS-B traffic, weather and other information such as Waas GPS position. “Teaming with Garmin through the Connext system opens the door for enhanced situational awareness and options for the delivery of flight data,” said Reagan. “This dynamic system will allow pilots to receive ADS-B weather, ADS-B traffic information and GPS positioning from their Garmin systems for display on Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck in a connected avionics environment to further aid the decision-making process.”
