Marshall Aerospace took steps to boost the future of its core business: C-130 Hercules maintenance and support. The Cambridge, UK-based company will partner with Lockheed Martin in the OEM’s offer to provide enhanced and performance-based sustainment solutions to the air forces of Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. Marshall Aerospace has previously overhauled and modifies C-130s for these countries.
Separately, the NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA) renewed a contract to support and overhaul Europe-based C-130s operated by various NATO countries. Those countries, which include the U.S., have agreed to consolidate their C-130 maintenance contracting through NAMSA.
Marshall has also recently suggested to the UK Ministry of Defence, modifications that would enable the Royal Air Force C-130 fleet to perform maritime patrol and rescue duties that were previously provided by the service’s Nimrod fleet. The UK abandoned plans to introduce nine new Nimrod MR.4s in the recent defense review.
