Business aircraft dealer-broker SmartJets recently finalized the sale of a Dassault Falcon 2000 in just 27 days. This significantly outpaced the industry average of 219 days, according to data from AircraftPost.
The transaction, which included a pre-purchase inspection (PPI), was completed before the end of 2024. Talon Air of Farmingdale, New York, represented the buyer.
“We are proud to be able to serve our clients with such efficiency,” said Ben Shirazi, president of SmartJets and sister company VIP Completions. “Completing a transaction, with PPI in under 30 days is quite exceptional. Also, we were able to close this transaction before year-end 2024 and secure optimal bonus depreciation terms. Rapid transaction times suggest a healthy market, and we are very optimistic about 2025.”
Several factors contributed to the accelerated sale. SmartJets employs a full-time director of maintenance, who helps preempt and address potential issues before they delay transactions.
Additionally, the company’s 30,000 sq ft of hangar space and onsite inspection facilities streamline the PPI process, eliminating the need for third-party providers. The company also benefits from its Florida location, which offers a favorable regulatory environment as a “fly-away state.”
