Business Jet Cares raised $104,000 for Folds of Honor Foundation and Patriot PAWS Service Dogs at their 10th annual charity golf tournament last November. Folds of Honor offers educational scholarships to service members, first responders, and their families, while Patriot PAWS provides trained service dogs.
One hundred and forty-four golfers played at Texas Rangers Golf Club in Arlington, Texas, in support of the event. The tournament included several unique attractions, including a drone carrying dropped golf balls to the green and a cannon where, by donating, players could shoot their golf ball out of a custom launcher 400 yards onto the green.
The Patriot Paws Service Dogs’ puppies-in-training also joined, spending time with participants and their families.
Business Jet Cares customer experience officer Cat Wren said that, in the last 10 years of tournaments, nearly $600,000 has been raised for veterans charities.
“When our employees dreamt up a way to give back to the community, we had no idea what it would become. With the blessing of our ownership, we took a chance and a leap, and the return for veterans and their families has been incredible,” she said. “The aviation community shows up each and every year to support our cause and it is through that support [that] this tournament has truly become one of the most anticipated events of the year.”
Business Jet Cares was founded in 2012 by Business Jet as a means for employees to give back to veterans, children, and animal causes.
