Gulfstream Aerospace took the wraps off its Fort Worth Alliance Airport service center in Texas today with a ribbon cutting of the more than $55 million, 162,000-sq-ft (15,050-sq-m) MRO. Announced in 2020, the center includes 80,000 sq ft of hangar space, 44,000 sq ft of back shops, and 32,000 sq ft of offices.

As part of the new facility’s development, the Savannah, Georgia-based airframer shifted about 150 customer-support jobs from its service center at Dallas Love Field, which has added completions of the large-cabin G600 twinjet in addition to outfitting the super-midsize G280. Additionally, fifty new jobs also were created at the facility at Fort Worth Alliance.

“The Fort Worth Alliance opening marks another milestone in Gulfstream’s overarching strategy to enhance convenience and increase support offerings for our customers,” said Gulfstream Customer Support president Derek Zimmerman. “This new facility will serve our significant customer base in Texas and those traveling in the region from throughout the U.S. as well as the volume of Gulfstream traffic we see in the area coming from Mexico, Central, and South America, and around the world.”

Gulfstream also is building a 225,000-sq-ft service center in Mesa, Arizona, which is expected to employ more than 200 people and gain LEED Silver certification as part of the company’s sustainability push. The OEM is already operating out of a temporary facility in Mesa until the new center opens next year.
