Bombardier announced it has delivered the first Challenger 650 to a Mexican customer, making it the first of the class to enter service in the country. Bombardier’s business jet fleet in Latin America now totals approximately 550 aircraft, including 200 in Mexico alone.

“The Challenger 650 jet is an ideal aircraft to be operated from high altitude airports, such as Toluca near Mexico City,” Stephane Leroy, Bombardier Business Aircraft’s regional vice president for Latin America. “It offers the perfect combination of cabin comfort, superior performance and the lowest direct operating costs in its category.”

According to the Canadian airframer, the Challenger series and the 650 model in particular, are the leaders in their category in Latin America with a better-than 40 percent market share. The 650 entered service in 2015, featuring a complete cabin redesign, a new galley, the Bombardier Vision flight deck and optimized engine thrust, it can fly eight passengers from Toluca to Miami in under three hours.
