From the fashion runways to airport runways, Townsend Leather has turned this fall’s fashion trend of lace into a new aircraft interiors product line, which makes its debut here at NBAA. According to the third-generation family-owned company, the new gaufrage-embossed center-cut hide, entitled Lace Weave, combines the delicacy of lace with the durability and performance of its highest-quality leather. The product has no pattern-match lines and can be customized with numerous finishing techniques including hand-dippings and antique effects. It comes standard in a variety of colors including browns, charcoals, off-whites and blues, but virtually any color is available with an assurance of conformance to flammability requirements.
The company has also announced the re-launch of the Flight Wipes leather-cleaning product, which is made in partnership with The Leather Institute. The new and improved wipes, available by the pouch or by the case, have been rebranded as Finished Leather Cleaning Wipes under The Leather Institute brand and logo. The 7-inch x 9-inch wipes, which are safe for use on all finished leather products, come pre-moistened with The Leather Institute’s finished leather cleaner.
