Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) confirmed yesterday that it is in “preliminary discussions” with BBA Aviation “regarding a potential combination of certain parts of its business.” The talks are widely believed to center on the two companies’ aircraft maintenance divisions. Unconfirmed press reports have indicated that DAE, which owns Tempe, Ariz.-based StandardAero, is seeking some kind of merger with BBA’s aircraft maintenance division, under which DAE would reportedly own a majority stake. However, no finalized deal has been announced.
