Twin Commander Service Available in UK

Twin Commander operators in Europe now have another option for maintenance. London-based Gama Engineering has been named an authorized Twin Commander Service Center. Based at Fairoaks Airport near Heathrow, Gama Engineering comprises the former Mann Aviation Group Engineering and Lees Avionics. Gama Engineering will provide engineering and certification support to Twin Commander operators as well as other general aviation, helicopter and regional operators. Lees Avionics has been moved to Gama Engineering’s facility to provide airframe and avionics support. Harry Lees, managing director, told AIN, “Gama is the only UK-based authorized Twin Commander service center. There is one other in Europe located in Germany.” Gama Engineering has 53,000 sq ft of hangar, office and workshop space and a staff of 55, including nine in engineering design and 22 mechanics/technicians. A composites workshop manufactures interior parts for corporate aircraft. The company offers major structural repairs, full avionic upgrades, trim refurbishments and all standard maintenance. The EASA and FAA Part 145 repair station holds EASA Part 21J Design approval so it can approve modifications in-house. “We also produce many STCs, including glass cockpits, special-mission systems and camera installations,” said Lees.
