Air Works of Mumbai, India, has been named an Embraer-authorized service center for Phenoms. The facility, certified by the DGCA to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the aircraft, also offers a 24-hour marketing, sales and customer support team. Established in 1951, Air Works is authorized to maintain 42 aircraft types for about 90 customers through 12 maintenance locations, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru. Air Works provides aircraft paint services through its Air Livery subsidiary. A joint venture with Scandinavian Avionics of Denmark, coupled with avionics certifications from Honeywell, Rockwell Collins and Garmin, allows the MRO to provide turnkey avionics solutions to both commercial and military customers. The Embraer authorization underscores a growing interest in the region for the Brazilian manufacturer. In 2009, the OEM appointed Indamer its first authorized service center in India. It was charged with providing support for all of EmbraerÃs Legacy 600s and Phenom 100s in India at the time. Embraer has also appointed a field support representative based in Mumbai to provide technical and maintenance support to all of the OEMÃs executive jets in the region.
