Piper Aircraft has chosen Millennium Concepts of Wichita to provide the passenger and crew seats for the PiperJet single-engine very light jet. According to Kevin Reifschneider, Millennium Concepts’ president and managing director, “We have an extensive cabinet shop where we manufacture, certify and install VIP interior furniture for general aviation through wide-body aircraft. We hold the STC for the Yingling Cessna 208 Oasis interior program.” The company has been manufacturing seats and interior products for general aviation since 1999 and also has a machine shop with high-speed vertical CNC capability and a finish and paint shop. “The Piper project is a logical next step in our growth, because it complements existing production,” Reifschneider told AIN. “It gave us the opportunity to demonstrate our advanced engineering capability by designing a seat that exceeds the FAA’s impact requirements for this category of aircraft.” The reclining, lightweight seats are designed to provide safety and support and are equipped with adjustable headrests and a break-over seat back.
