Two Spanish charter operators announced additions to their charter fleets here at EBACE.

Madrid-based Executive Airlines (Booth No. 542), the second largest business aviation operator in Spain, took delivery of its ninth Gulfstream G200 on April 6. The company claims to be the largest Gulfstream operator in Europe. It counts four G550s, nine G200s and three G150s among its total fleet of 25 business jets.

“The company’s charter business is concentrated in the long-range segment,” said Fracisco Sanz, manager of the private aircraft management department. “Executive Airlines has not been affected by the difficult global economic climate because long-range charter clients continue to use the service. We hope to add at least three new planes before the end of the year.”

The second operator, Corporate Jets XXI (Booth No. 963) of Barcelona, is expanding its existing fleet with the addition of a Dassault Falcon 2000LX in October. The company currently operates a Falcon 900C and two Cessna Citation 560 XLS jets. “Our customer base is expanding and so are the requirements of our regular clients,” said Jacint Pugimarti Mulet, Corporate Jets XXI’s commercial director. “We also know that brokers find the Citation XLS popular for mid- and long-range sectors due to its comfort levels.”

Corporate Jets XXI obtained approval last year that allows it to arrange transatlantic flights within 24 hours (depending on the nationality of the passengers). It also announced at EBACE that it can now accept charter bookings by credit card online. “The credit card payment system has the advantage of authenticating new and unknown clients, particularly those who contact the company directly for quotes outside office hours,” Mulet said.
