A group of experienced former Eclipse Aviation workers appears to have launched a company called Eclipse 500 Services to provide maintenance for Eclipse 500 very light jets. The company’s contact information lists an Albuquerque, N.M. telephone number but provides no information as to the identity of the principals. According to the company’s Web site, Eclipse 500 Services is offering maintenance, inspections, service bulletin compliance, EFIS 1.3 downloads, nav databases and upgrades, including a “solution to retrofit the Garmin 400W navigator,” which provides GPS functionality, to the Eclipse 500 avionics suite. According to the Web site, “All of our maintenance will be completed at the Albuquerque International Airport (at this current time); other facilities nearby are possibilities as we secure our future. Eclipse Aviation may have left a little to be desired, but as we all strive to pick up the pieces from an unforeseen Chapter 7, we believe that the aircraft is an asset worth having and maintaining.” Maintenance services are scheduled to commence in the second week of April. Eclipse 500 Services did not return AIN’s telephone calls or e-mails seeking additional information.
