Bombardier Learjet 23, Tlaxcala, Mexico, Dec. 7, 2008–At 6:15 p.m., the Mexican-registered federally owned Learjet crashed into a lake while on final approach to an unlit day VFR airport near Tlaxcala. The two pilots were killed. The airplane had been descending at a high rate on short final when a witness lost sight of it. It was the second fatal crash of a government-owned Learjet within two months. The Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil is investigating.
