San Diego-based Avexus (Booth No. 1600), a software development company specializing in MRO management solutions, is currently beta testing release 7i3 of its Impresa MRO process management software, which runs on Hewlett-Packard and Sun Unix operating systems, on Linux. According to Michael Grad, Avexus vice president of sales and marketing, the company is currently in negotiations for its first major customer to purchase the Linux-based software. Scheduled for final release in December, Impresa 7i3 will also include significant upgrades to advanced planning and scheduling (APS) features for both MRO and OEM users. “MRO users will be able to plan resources specifically related to MRO such as tooling, rotables and customer inventory,” said Grad. “OEM users will be able to single out orders for specific customers in terms of resources, enabling customer prioritization in scheduling and planning.”
