Marc Fruchter, 55, who started Fruchter Aviation in 1982 and built it into one of the largest FBOs at Reading Regional (Pa.) Airport, is selling the business to company president Jeffrey Alderfer. Fruchter was in the forefront of the controversy between charter operators and fractional providers even before he became a member of the Fractional Ownership Aviation Rulemaking Committee. He plans to hang his aviation consulting and part-time corporate pilot shingle at a new home near Greenville, S.C. The FBO will keep its name for a while and Fruchter will remain as a “company employee” for about a year after the sale closes, scheduled to occur in March.
