The uprated Rolls-Royce AE3007-C1 engine for the 2002 Citation X (starting with S/N 0173) has received FAA certification. The engine provides 5 percent more takeoff thrust (6,764 lb each side). Cessna said the enhanced engine performance will help to increase the Citation X’s payload capability, in addition to improving the business jet’s takeoff and climb performance. The improved AE3007-C1 is part of a package of enhancements that Cessna is making standard on all new Citation Xs delivered after January 1. Among the enhancements is a 400-lb increase in the Citation X’s mtow (36,100 lb). This will enable Citation X operators to carry up to seven passengers with full fuel in a typically equipped airplane, said Cessna. It has not been finalized what S/N airplanes and components will be available for retrofit.
