Montreal-based Air Canada will convert up to four of its Boeing 737s into 48-seat business jets and place them into the airline’s new on-demand and contract charter service, AC Jetz. Air Canada will assign dedicated flight crews. “Our specialized jet charter business will allow Air Canada to reassign surplus capacity in a cost-effective manner while generating new revenues in a profitable market segment,” said v-p of new business Bill Bredt. He sees the main clients for the new operation to include sports teams and corporate groups.
