A developer may convert portions of the former Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas, into a full-service general aviation airport. According to Eric Williams, executive director of the Lubbock Reese Redevelopment Authority, Riata Development signed an agreement in late June to lease 1,700 acres for the airport and is now in due diligence. The base, totaling 2,500 acres, has been under development as a research technology park.
