Zimex Aviation disclosed that it has phased out of business aircraft maintenance, to focus instead on air-charter operations and executive aircraft handling at Zurich Airport. The privately owned company was founded in 1969 and embarked on business aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul with the 1986 acquisition of Limess Aviation, which was the Swiss airport’s first general aviation maintenance firm when it opened in 1955. In October 2000 Zimex took over the FBO operations at Zurich from Signature Flight Support.
