Comprehensive Review of Part 135 Begins
The FAA has started its promised comprehensive review of Part 135 and Part 125.

The FAA has started its promised comprehensive review of Part 135 and Part 125. This review will also encompass related portions of Parts 91 and 119 (certification of air carriers and commercial operators). The intent of the review is to resolve current issues affecting this segment of the industry, update regulations and to address international regulatory harmonization. The review will also consider rescinding Part 125, the certification and operational standards governing aircraft with 20 or more passenger seats or a minimum payload capacity of 6,000 pounds. One of the first steps in the review process is the establishment of a 25-member joint FAA/government/industry aviation rulemaking committee. People and organizations interested in participating on the committee or its working groups should submit their request no later than March 5. In addition, the FAA invited interested people to comment on the review no later than June 3. For more information, contact the FAA’s Katherine Perfetti at (202) 267-5229.
