Belgian charter operator Flying Group’s takeover of Cap Camarat Business Jet (CCBJ) furthers the operator’s “ambition to become an important player in European business aviation,” a spokesman told AIN. With the combination of the two companies, he said, “the present air travel activities of Flying Group, which includes the co-ownership of business aircraft, brokering and commercial taxi flights, will find a new and important market in France and, more specifically, on the French Riviera.” He confirmed that the activities of CCBJ in Cannes will further expand under the Flying Group banner.

CCBJ’s Citation Excel will join the Flying Group’s existing fleet of 11 business jets. The spokesman said that Cannes-Mandelieu Airport has issued a building permit for the construction of a new building for offices, commercial activities and aircraft storage. The work, expected to start by year-end, will take about nine months to complete.
