On Monday, April 9, at 11 a.m. Aspen-Pitkin County Airport will be closed to all inbound and outbound traffic for runway rehabilitation. The $11.9 million project includes repaving the runway, installing conduit for a runway sensor system that will allow installation of pavement temperature sensors and runway grooving. The runway was last repaved in 1983. The runway’s 7,000-foot length, 100,000-pound weight limit and 95-foot wingspan limit will not change.
