Co-owner and general manager of Aspen Base Operation Cliff Runge expects to close on a deal today or tomorrow to sell the FBO at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (Sardy Field) to Trajen FBO Network, the growing chain backed by private equity firm CapStreet. The Aspen location would be the 18th for Trajen. Runge will no longer be involved with the FBO, but current Aspen Base Operation executive v-p Fred Mosher expects to stay on and told AIN he has been assured that the rest of the staff, many of whom are veterans with up to 21 years of service at the FBO, will also be asked to stay. If the deal goes through as planned, it will be the third acquisition for Trajen in four weeks. On September 20 the FBO chain announced the acquisition of two First Air facilities in Elmira and Binghamton, N.Y.
