It's a landmark event for Garrett/Piedmont Hawthorne/Associated (GHPA). The services once provided by the well known and respected names of engine and airframe maintenance firm Garrett Aviation, FBO chain of Piedmont Hawthorne and large aircraft completions center Associated Air Center are reemerging under the new identity of Landmark Aviation. Garrett and Piedmont Hawthorne are losing their names in the process, but Associated Air Center will continue to operate under its own identity, though as "a Landmark Aviation Company." Along with the new name comes new leaders. Former Honeywell Airframe System’s executive Roger Wolfe, who joined GPHA earlier this year, has been named CEO. Wolfe replaces Frank Klaus, who has left the company. Klaus had been president of Garrett since 2003 and led the integration of the company into The Carlyle Group. He was subsequently named president and CEO of the then newly created GPHA. Executive v-p of sales and marketing Shawn Vick has been promoted to Landmark Aviation president.
