Bids are invited from “qualified persons or firms” to design, develop and operate a new FBO facility at Boston Logan International Airport, which is currently served by Signature Flight Support. As part of its request for proposals (RFP), the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) will host a pre-submission conference and site tour on February 10 where copies of the draft lease and operating agreements will be available. Bids must be received by March 10. Signature president Beth Haskins confirmed that her company will be bidding, and told AIN that, unlike the La Guardia Airport bidding war last year, the Massport RFP requires no minimum concession-fee percentage. She said, “This situation is different from La Guardia because it involves construction of a new passenger terminal and ground-support-equipment maintenance facility.” Signature’s lease at Boston expires next year.
