The G150, which Gulfstream touts as the first wide-cabin, long-range, midsize business jet, rolled out January 18 in Tel Aviv in front of hundreds of Israel Aircraft Industries employees, officials from both companies, supplier representatives and certifying authorities. Manufactured at IAI’s plant at Ben Gurion International Airport, the newest member of the Gulfstream line boasts a cabin height that is just three inches lower than that of its large-cabin siblings, the G450 and G550. The G150 is a derivative of the G100 (née IAI Astra SPX) and will be certified under an amended TC by the FAA and Israel Civil Aviation Authority in the first quarter of next year. The $13.5 million, six- to eight-passenger aircraft will be flown to Gulfstream’s Dallas facility for completion. According to Gulfstream, the G150 will fly four passengers nonstop up to 2,700 nm at a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.75, farther than any other aircraft in its class.
