Long-time business aviation leader Jim Christiansen might be feeling a little déjà vu after his appointment last month as president of NetJets Aviation in Columbus, Ohio. From 1990 to 1992 he was president of Executive Jet Aviation, as the company was known then.

Announcing Christiansen’s new appointment, NetJets chairman and CEO Richard Santulli said, “With Jim’s depth of experience, there is no one who knows our business better.” The position has been unfilled since Bill Boisture resigned in January last year after joining the fractional operator in October 2003.

Christiansen, who as chairman of the National Air Transportation Association led the Fractional Ownership Aviation Rulemaking Committee that helped the FAA develop FAR Part 91 Subpart K, rejoined NetJets in late 2001 as v-p of national accounts for the company’s fractional aircraft ownership program.

Before joining NetJets, Christiansen was executive v-p and COO of charter/management firm TAG Aviation USA. He also served stints as president of the former K-C Aviation Transportation Services and president of Wayfarer Ketch, the former flight department for several corporations.
