Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y., presented its annual Spirit of Noise Abatement Award to 32 of its based operators for maintaining 100-percent compliance with the nighttime voluntary restraint from flying program and for not exceeding 93 dBA on approach and departure. The Spirit winner for the lowest average sound level for a jet fleet operator went to U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Brands, flying two Challenger 601s and two Falcon 2000EXs. The Spirit award for the lowest average sound level by a single jet operator went to Rabbit Hill Industries, flying a Citation 550.
