Jet Aviation has dropped plans to build an FBO at Kuwait International Airport. Jet Aviation told AIN that it has “discontinued the cooperation with the local partners in Kuwait and the project has been stopped.” The company, which has facilities in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, declined to comment on the precise reasons for its abandoning the project, but since announcing the Kuwait development with a press release and full-color artist renderings in August 2004, Jet Aviation has been acquired by venture capital group Permira. Kuwait has a growing economy but may be disadvantaged by being sandwiched between Iraq and Iran.
