Gulfstream Aerospace is claiming a record for a G150 flight from Tel Aviv, Israel, to Geneva on May 1. A company flight-test airplane completed the 1,575-nm journey in three hours and 40 minutes, flying at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.82 against an average headwind of 25 knots. The crew comprised Gulfstream midsize aircraft advanced programs chief pilot Scott Evans and Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) senior test pilot Yoram Geva.

The G150 received U.S. and Israeli certification last November and is scheduled for first customer delivery before October. The six- to eight-passenger aircraft, which is powered by two Honeywell TFE731-40AR engines, has a range of up to 2,950 nm at speeds of up to Mach 0.85 and altitudes of up to 45,000 feet.

Evans has previously established eight other records with IAI Astra and Galaxy aircraft. If approved by the U.S. National Aeronautic Association, this latest class-record claim may be submitted for world ratification by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale in Lausanne, which oversees recognition for competitive flight performances.
