FBO owners of three or fewer facilities are being invited to join a new organization, the Independent Fixed Base Operators Association (IFBOA). According to its organizer, Bedford, Mass.-based aviation consultant The Cambridge Group, the focus of IFBOA is to “promote its members, establish an interchange of information, establish uniform standards and negotiate improved pricing with vendors and suppliers.” The organizer estimates there are between 2,500 and 3,000 independent FBOs.
