Cessna 208B Caravan, Vilanculos, Mozambique, June 30, 2006–The Caravan charter was approaching Vilankulo Airport at night when it crashed about 1.2 miles from the airport. At the time of the approach, the pilot said he thought he had experienced a loss of power. No significant weather was reported. The pilot was killed and the copilot and a passenger were seriously injured. The South African-registered aircraft was owned by Naturelink, and the flight originated at Polokwane International Airport, South Africa. The Mozambique Civil Aviation Authority is investigating.
