Solvay has received a "Supplier of the Year" award from Boeing, which selected it along with nine other companies for distinguished performance in working alongside the OEM.
The supply chain visibility category recognized Solvayâs support of Boeingâs digital thread strategy by allowing real-time visibility across the supply chain, according to Solvay's Alpharetta, Georgia-based unit.
Boeing chose the award winners from 13,000 suppliers in 48 countries based on performance in quality, delivery, cost, environment, customer service, and technical expertise.
Originating in Belgium, the companyâs U.S. footprint comprises activity in 25 states, 38 industrial units, and 5,400 employees. U.S. revenues totaled $2.9 billion in 2021.
âFor more than 50 years, Solvay and Boeing have been collaborating to solve complex problems through technical innovation, unconventional supply chain solutions, and commitment to shared core values,â said Carmelo Lo Faro, president of Solvay Materials Segment. âThis award is testament to both our longstanding partnership built on delivery, innovation, and collaboration and to the value we create together as we navigate the challenging times faced by the industry."
Solvayâs composite materials business helps customers design, develop, and manufacture lightweight structures for the aerospace, automotive, and other industries.
In the aerospace industry, the materials help reduce fuel consumption and offer greater design freedom, thus improving aerodynamic efficiency.
