<p>Business jet charter, non-jet air taxi, and certain non-Canadian-registered air transport aircraft will be permitted to obtain specific approval for closely spaced parallel operations, or precision runway monitoring (PRM) operations, at Toronto Pearson International Airport (CYYZ), if a recently published notice of proposed amendments (NPA) is adopted. Currently, such approvals for PRM operations are only available to Canadian-registered air transport operators. This notice also modifies regulations to align Canada’s authorization framework for PRM operations with international standards set out by ICAO. “The purpose of this initiative is to support the implementation of simultaneous independent parallel instrument approaches at Pearson International Airport, specifically targeting runways 15L/33R and 15R/33L” said the notice. Comments are due by Oct. 24, 2025.</p>
