Demand for increased air service for a more extensive network of destinations is pushing airlines to use more cost effective aircraft. This need inspired the development of the SuperJet SSJ100, which recently made a major breakthrough into the European market when Irish airline CityJet agreed to lease 15 of the new generation regional twinjet. The key to its appeal is a combination of advanced technology, cabin comfort and superior operating economics, allowing it to profitably feed hubs and also serve more point-to-point city pairs.
