The French Air Force’s Patrouille de France Aerobatic Display Team Paints the Dubai Skies - AIN

The 2019 Dubai Air Show is the final public appearance of the year for the French Air Force’s Patrouille de France aerobatic display team. Significantly, it also marks the tenth anniversary of the defense accord between France and the United Arab Emirates. The nine highly agile twin-engined Alphajets never fail to impress with their patriotic red, white and blue plumage. The Air Force pilots who fly them are aged between 32 and 39, and have between 1,900 and 4,100 flight hours in their log books. Since 1981, five hundred plus Alphajets have logged more than a million hours. Export deliveries have been made to countries including Egypt, Morocco and Qatar. Powered by a pair of Turbomeca Larzac engines, the aircraft can fly at speeds of mach 0.86 at altitudes of up to forty nine thousand feet.
