Delaware-based VIP bizliner completions company Aloft AeroArchitects introduced the Aloft Academy, an in-house training program aimed at developing skilled aviation technicians, this week at AIX 2025. Designed for local individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, the fully compensated initiative seeks to address the ongoing skills gap in the aviation industry.
Aloft's program is structured to train participants in core competencies such as aircraft structures, avionics, mechanical systems, and interiors. It also includes general aerospace education, regulatory knowledge, and instruction on Aloft-specific documents, safety protocols, and procedures. Students are brought on as full-time employees from the first day and will graduate as qualified aircraft mechanics after six months. In return for a two-year employment commitment, graduates receive a complete professional toolbox.
The inaugural class begins in June and concludes in January 2026, with a second cohort expected to follow soon after. According to Aloft CEO Scott Meyer, the initiative is a strategic move to cultivate a reliable pipeline of local talent. The company aims to align operational demands with tailored training content, allowing it to expand its workforce sustainably by equipping high-potential individuals with specialized skills, even those without prior aviation experience.
Aloft Academy reflects the company’s commitment to long-term workforce development and local community engagement, offering a direct path to full-time employment in aviation.
