Astronics Max-Viz is offering special pricing on the company’s enhanced vision systems (EVS) fthis week at EAA AirVenture, as well as online during the airshow. The pricing applies to the company’s X1+HR and X1 EVS uncertified versions designed for experimental and homebuilt aircraft.
"During EAA AirVenture, the X1-HR system, normally priced at $18,000, will be available for $16,800. Similarly, the X1 EVS, regularly priced at $6,000, will be $5,700,” said Tom Geiger, business unit manager for Astronics Max-Viz.
Both of the solutions available in the offer are single line-replaceable units. The systems help pilots to see obstructions that might not be visible and are not in any synthetic vision database. Avidyne said the EVS enable pilots to see up to 10 times farther than unaided human vision under visibility obscured conditions. The X1+HR sensor is compatible with any displays that accept NTSC or PAL/Analog RS-170 signals. According to the company, the X1+HR and X1 EVS are built into aerodynamically shaped housing units and feature window heaters along with automatic pixel recalibration.
Astronics Max-Viz has both units on display at its booth this week at AirVenture. Orders placed at the show or online must specify delivery before year-end to qualify for the pricing promotion.
