TQ-Group will introduce an ADS-B transponder and VHF transceiver at its AirVenture exhibit. The transponder is called the KTX2 and the transceiver is labeled KRT2. EASA certification of the KTX2 is expected by the end of this year and the device meets ETSO/TSO requirements.
The KTX2 is lightweight, consumes power at a low rate, and features bright digital readouts. According to TQ-Group, the transponder was developed to provide owners with a reasonably priced option for meeting the European 2020 ADS-B mandate deadline. Installation of the device requires connection to an antenna along with the addition of a WAAS GPS source.
The KRT2 transceiver has an integrated intercom, dual watch mode, and 100 frequency memory slots. The transceiver is also lightweight and can be updated with new software. TQ-Group said its transceivers are currently installed in more than 10,000 aircraft across Europe.
