NATA has announced Larry Flynn and Randall Berg as the recipients of its highest annual honors. Flynn will be awarded the William A. “Bill” Ong Memorial Award, while Berg will receive the NATA Distinguished Service Award during a luncheon at the NATA 2018 annual meeting and aviation business conference next month in Washington, D.C.
The Ong Memorial Award is given for extraordinary achievement and extended meritorious service to the general aviation industry. Flynn, who retired as president of Gulfstream Aerospace in 2015, served more than 30 years in managing aircraft service facilities.
“Larry’s leadership and keen insight enhanced the profile of numerous sectors of the general aviation community and helped secure the industry’s position as a worldwide leader,” said NATA president Marty Hiller.
The NATA Distinguished Service Award recognizes outstanding service and ongoing contributions to the general aviation industry. Berg, a NATA board member and recent director of aviation for King County in Washington, has more than 40 years of experience as an airport executive.
“Randy has contributed significantly to the general aviation community in various roles as a leader and educator…[His] vast knowledge of our industry is crucial when addressing airport-related issues and collaborating on research projects to better serve our members. We will all continue to benefit from Randy’s guidance and enthusiasm for inspiring the growth of young aviation business professionals,” said Hiller.
