Signature Flight Support (Booth A-046) is once again sponsoring the annual Sun ‘n’ Fun International Fly-in and Expo as part of its ongoing effort to support local communities and encourage youth to get excited about aviation. It will use its booth to provide information to those interested in getting involved in the aviation industry this week at the Lakeland, Florida airshow.
According to the Orlando, Florida-based FBO chain, the Sun ‘n’ Fun show attracts more than 200,000 attendees and generates some $430,000 in scholarships annually for Polk County students entering an aerospace industry career. The scholarships cover the cost of flight lessons and/or college tuition for four years. In addition, the airshow is the largest fundraiser for the Aerospace Center for Excellence, a campus dedicated to aerospace and STEM education based at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.
“Signature is thrilled to be a part of this event and to connect with members of both the aviation community and the Lakeland community. We are especially excited for the opportunity to share the world of aviation with young enthusiasts in our continuing efforts to encourage youth to get interested in a future career in aviation,” said Patrick Sniffen, vice president of marketing for Signature Flight Support.
The FBO chain also supports general aviation year-round via its Signature BlueSky Program for avgas aviators, which offers general aviation pilots the opportunity to earn rewards with every avgas purchase; the Signature TailWins program, which offers aviators the ability to earn 10 points per gallon of avgas purchased at any U.S. Signature location; and via 13 self-serve avgas locations and more than 100 locations throughout the U.S. that provide flight support.
