Rainy Wednesday nights are not always the most exciting, but this past “hump day” evening at Lakeland Linder Airport during Sun ’n’ Fun 2016 the announcement of a special fundraiser livened up the night. Sun ’n’ Fun’s fundraising arm, Sun ’n’ Fun Inc., and the Kissimmee, Fla.-based Stallion 51 organization have together with Central Florida’s Experience Kissimmee group in a raffle to raise money to fund Sun ’n’ Fun’s science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) K-12 initiatives throughout the school year with its ACEMaker raffle.
Raffle tickets are $20 each and available online for the next couple of months. The winner takes all: an all-expenses paid VIP Sun ’n’ Fun experience, transportation included, for 2017, as well as a ride in a P-51 Mustang from Stallion 51, with Lee Lauderback, EAA Warbirds of America 2013 Hall of Fame inductee and president and CEO of Stallion 51 Corp. Lauderback is one of the most experienced P-51 Mustang pilots in the world, with more than 9,000 hours in the Mustang.
The prize will be awarded at EAA's AirVenture this summer.
