Redbird premiered Winging It, an online video series that promotes pilot proficiency, last night at Sun ’n’ Fun 2016. Video series host Brittney Miculka will travel to 10 locations across the U.S. to showcase the best in aviation education. The first episode, “Simple Mission, Complex Problem,” is now available at the Winging It website.
The videos follow Miculka on a cross-country trip, allowing viewers to experience each step of the journey. These include stops in Massachusetts for an upset-recovery course with airshow pilot Michael Goulian; Denver to learn mountain flying; Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland to get trained as a medevac nurse; and California to sharpen her skills on emergency procedures, among others. Miculka will visit flight schools, high schools, universities and sim centers, and will experience something new at each location.
Redbird will release a new Winging It episode every two weeks, culminating at the Pilot Proficiency Center at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., in late July. In addition to the main video of each episode, the Winging It website provides viewers with Miculka’s insights from the trip, information about the highlighted locations and tips and tricks to encourage viewers to consider similar training.
Pilots attending AirVenture 2016 will get the opportunity to join in the experience, flying scenarios inspired by each location in Redbird simulators at the EAA Pilot Proficiency Center.
