AEA Jump Starts ADS-B Compliance at AirVenture
Association giving away $1,000 grants to equip for NextGen.

The Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) takes the FAA ADS-B Out compliance deadline seriously. To give aircraft owners incentive to install the required equipment, the association is randomly awarding five aircraft owners at EAA AirVenture $1,000 each to jump-start their NextGen compliance upgrades. This is the second year the association has awarded grants.

AEA president Paula Derks said, “The avionics shop industry in the U.S. has only 53 months remaining to equip the entire GA fleet of more than 100,000 aircraft with ADS-B Out equipment.” That math does not favor those who procrastinate, she said. “Aircraft owners who wait to equip will face scheduling pressure and higher installation costs as we get closer to the deadline.”

To apply for the grant, visit AEA’s booth at AirVenture (Hangar B, Booth 2035/2036). Winners will be announced through AEA’s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn outlets.
