Russian Helicopters Overhauls Six Mi-17-1vs for India
Work performed under first contract with Border Security Forces, and now "further cooperation is being discussed."

Following repairs and overhauls, Moscow-based Russian Helicopters (Hall 1, Stand C181), an arm of the Rostec State Corp., has delivered six Mi-17-1v helicopters to India’s Border Security Force, the company announced on the eve of Farnborough International Airshow 2018. The work was performed at Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant (NARP). Though NARP provides MRO on Mi-8/17 model helicopters for numerous foreign operators, this was the first overhaul project performed for the Border Security Forces, “the largest border security force in the world,” according to Russian Helicopters. Given the high praise for NARP expressed by Indian military specialists following completion of the work, “further cooperation is being discussed,” said Igor Chechikov, Russian Helicopters’ deputy director general for after-sales support services.

Russian Helicopters has five helicopter production facilities, two design bureaus, a spare parts production and a repair facility, in addition to an aftermarket support services branch.
