The paint shop by Hawker Pacific at Singapore Seletar Airport has seen brisk business in its first year of operation, and the company is anticipating demand continuing to grow during the this year. Built inside an aircraft hangar with a floor area of nearly 11,000 sq ft, the facility is the only paint shop in the region dedicated to business aircraft. It can handle the larger business jets such as Bombardier Global Express, Dassault Falcon 7X and Gulfstream G550. Among the tasks already undertaken are OEM warranty repairs, livery changes and full resprays.

“We had identified early on a growing need for operators to reduce the cost burden of having to fly to the U.S. or Europe for mid-life repaints, particularly as the fleet of local business aircraft matures,” said Tom Jones, COO Hawker Pacific Asia. “A quality paint finish is not just about looking good but is also an important maintenance action to preserve and protect the aircraft and its value, and to avoid unnecessary expense in the future. The environment in this part of the world is particularly tough on aircraft exteriors, so it’s critical to be diligent with them.”

As well as paint work, Hawker Pacific performs a range of other services at the Seletar facility, including avionics upgrades and major aircraft inspections.
