The U.S. Air Force’s T-6 program office has suspended deliveries of the Hawker Beechcraft T-6A Texan II single-engine turboprop trainer “pending investigation of contract delivery issues,” according to a spokesman at the Air Force Air Education & Training Command (AETC). The AETC currently operates 320 T-6As for Air Force specialized undergraduate pilot training, and the U.S. Navy’s Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Two Zero (Nav Air) also operates the T-6A. “AETC continues to execute its primary mission of undergraduate pilot training under a g limitation suggested by the program office,” the spokesman said. According to Hawker Beechcraft, the T-6A is also a primary trainer and weapons and navigation trainer for the Hellenic Air Force of Greece and NATO Flying Training in Canada. The T-6A fleet now numbers more than 435, according to Hawker Beechcraft, and has logged more than 625,000 flying hours.
